Gardeners' World Live

Gardeners' World Live

Two of the biggest names in gardening join forces this week as BBC Gardeners' World and the Royal Horticultural Society host one of the most popular gardening shows of the year.

BBC Gardeners' World Live, held at the NEC Birmingham from Wednesday till Sunday, is celebrating its 21st birthday this year, and you can look forward to some cracking new features. There's a whole new category of show garden, with Outdoor Living Gardens showing you what you can do even in the smallest of spaces. Four designers vie with each other and a limited budget for the new design competition Metamorphosis: A Design Journey. And the new Kitchen Garden brings together top chefs, and gardening experts to let you in on the secrets of growing and eating wonderful home-grown produce from your garden.

And of course there are the spectacular show gardens – about 40 of them, from big show gardens to tiny 3m x 3m Edible Patches designed by allotment groups around the country. Look out for Tony Smith's thought-provoking conceptual design In Perspective; Chris Myers's Yorkshire haymeadow, complete with barn, and design student Anja van der Zwart's willow weaving evocation of the beautiful Somerset levels.

Gardeners' World Live runs from 12-16 June: for tickets go to www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com
