Enjoy a celebration of all that's good in gardening this week as one of the country's friendliest garden shows gets under way at Tatton Park near Knutsford in Cheshire.
All your favourite features are at the North's most keenly anticipated horticultural event. Don't miss the ever-popular National Flowerbed Competition in which council parks departments vie with each other to produce the most eye-popping displays using only bedding plants.
Around 90 leading nurseries are waiting in the Floral Marquee to lend you their expertise, and in the show gardens there's inspiration from top designers on coastal gardens, the latest ways to grow food in small spaces, recycling in the garden and an amazing sound-and-light garden you can 'play' like an instrument using nothing but your smartphone.
Then there are the Galaxy Gardens, with some quirky interpretations of a space theme, and the innovative spaces designed by the up-and-coming youngsters competing for the title of Young Designer of the Year. You'll come home with bags of inspiration for your own garden, so don't forget your notebook: we'll be on hand when you get back to help you create your dream show garden for real.
The RHS Flower Show Tatton Park runs from 25 to 28 July. For more details visit www.rhs.org.uk/tatton.
